The Calanthra are a race created by Private Exchange based of :iconshowkaizer:'s Cilessians. (Yes he's fully aware and is in fact a member of PE). Calanthran's are all named and designed after types of flowers. It took me forEVER to decide on his color scheme. I didn't want him to look pink. O_O *gag* Oh, and yes he wears a yellow speedo under that! *cackle* *shameless*

I intend to expand on this later and add some back and weapon reference when I've got more time. Hopeully we'll figure out what the Calanthran crest looks like so I can add it to his gorgette. o_o;; His bio follows...

Name: Anthurian
Occupation: Royal Guard (or something similar)
Age: equivalent to mid 20s
Preferred weapon: Trident (a typical guards weapon) or over-sized scimitar. (both with blades made from psychic energy)

Anthurian is much broader and taller than most Calanthrans, a fact than none fail to notice upon meeting him. This did give him quite an advantage when it came to physical skills, and his parents enrolled him into the warriors academy at an early age. His success in training earned him a respected position in the royal guard, and a fair reputation among his classmates.

He's dedicated to his role as a defender of his people, and takes it quite seriously. He acts macho around most people, especially his comrades-in-arms, because that what's expected. The reality is that he's silently self conscious of his over-sized stature, and can be quite shy in certain situations. He's actually a romantic at heart, though not very charming, and would prefer one meaningful relationship to 'bedding 10 women at once', as his warrior comrades would put it. He's great with children and seems very much the gentle giant (ala Kindergarden Kop), but puts his macho face back on whenever his comrades-in-arms come around.

I think he also has a gay friend that's constantly hitting on him, much to his embarrassment. XD

Edit: Looks like Anthur has started forging a relationship with ~mirrew's Mandra. She starts off not being terribly impressed with him but after some exchanges begins seeing through his macho facade and is amused by how shy he starts getting around her. The interest is mutual and with some hinting and encouragement from her (mostly over classes/demonstrations at a healer symposium) they start seeing each other tentatively. That's as much as we have worked out at the moment.

He's cool looking, and I think some of us are sorry we can't see those bioluminesent markings on his thighs, if you get my drift. I love his ears, they're awesome.

For some reason, I want to pet him. Just to feel the difference between the scaley and spiney spots. I like the colors you gave him. The light red isn't approaching pink, and the lemon yellow is a nice offset to the soft red.
